What it says

Take every Book. Keep the ones where First published is at least 1837 and First published is at most 1901. Sort by First published, earliest first. No limit.

Both conditions sit at the top level, which is all of, so an entry has to pass both. The every-book page renders this list in full; with more than 50 matches Liquid would show the first 50, which is worth knowing before you sort a long list.
