The list

In the app this list is called British detective and gothic novels under 300 pages.

What it says

Take every Book. Keep the ones whose Author’s Nationality is “British”, where any of (Genres includes Detective and mystery, Genres includes Horror and gothic) is true, and where Pages is less than 300. Sort by First published, newest first. Keep the first 12.

On the storefront

This is the previous example with a relationship condition added and a limit. Three ideas, one list. The home page renders it with the theme’s cards; the app never touches the markup.

In your store

When a brief says “show X that are Y or Z, but only the ones that are W”, it maps straight onto this shape: the ors go in a group, everything else sits beside it.
